Western Herbal Medicine
Western herbal medicine is defined by the centuries old practice of using botanical materials for medicine. Western herbs mean plants that are commonly found in the U.S. or Europe. Some of these plants are cultivated and some are wild crafted.
Examples of herbal medicine are Goldenseal for infections, Echinacea for immune support, Coltsfoot for respiration problems, Mullein for ear infections, Calendula for external wound healing , Hawthorn for heart support, Aloe Vera for burns among many others.
We carry an array of herbal blends for specific problems that are made by a company called Apawthecary. An example is Tinkle Tonic for urinary tract support. We also have a more complex formula sometimes used for cancer support, when indicated, called Hoxsey formula.
We find many herbs very useful for healing our pets and can recommend this approach after determining what condition(s) your pet has and what their needs are.
