Dr. Engel's interest in equine health has increased along with her continuing education.  Dr. Engel has taken seminars in equine opthamology and dentistry.  Along with these specialties, she does routine vaccinations, minor surgeries, coggins testing, health certificates, and wound care.    

Aside from conventional veterinary care, homeopathy and herbal therapies have assisted horses with allergies, heaves, injuries, eye problems, and skin problems.

A recent addition to Dr. Engel's equine practice is acupuncture.  This new modality joins veterinary spinal manipulation (VSM) as a helpful alternative or compliment to conventional treatments.  Dr. Engel is certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association.

Equine health is a growing area of the practice and one that Dr. Engel gains much satisfaction and enjoyment from.  She recently expanded the practice to include an equine facility located just down the road from the small animal clinic.  Equine enthusiasts can now bring their large animal friends into a clinic setting.  Dr. Engel also makes farm calls for clients within a reasonable traveling distance.
